Valov Artur Anatolievich

Valov Artur Anatolievich, born May 26, 1987 in Naberezhnye Chelny, Republic of Tatarstan. At the time of his arrest, he lived in Kazan. He has a secondary education. Artur was previously convicted of robbery and fraud, and worked as a foreman at Tatstroimontazh LLC (construction). He is officially single, but has a family, including two young children born in 2014 and 2017. He is a Muslim.

Sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime penal colony under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation") and Part 1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Assistance to terrorist activity") in connection with his participation in the activities of the international religious and political organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, which is recognised in Russia as a terrorist organisation.

In custody since April 25, 2018.
